University School QB Jayden Cunningham Named High School Impact Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Gladiators announced today that senior quarterback Jayden Cunningham of University School has been named the Week 7 High School Impact Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Preppers’ 40-21 win over Parma on Friday night.

Cunningham threw for three scores, rushed for another, and returned an interception 45 yards for a defensive touchdown in helping improve University School’s record to 5-2 on the year.

“Jayden’s focus, preparation, exceptional abilities, and boundless enthusiasm for the game and his teammates make him a remarkable football player who can take over the game on both sides of the ball,” said University School Head Coach Ben Malbasa. “Every week he seems to bring a new way to shape the narrative of a game.”

As the Gladiators’ High School Impact Player of the Week for Week 7 of the 2017 season, Cunningham will receive an award recognizing his accomplishment, an in-game appearance at a 2018 Cleveland Gladiators home game, a visit at practice by Gladiators Offensive Line Coach Chad Schofield, and a $500 grant towards the University School football program.
