Gladiators Add DB Damond Smith
CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League, presented by Unique Home Solutions, activated DB Damond Smith from the Refuse to Report List, the team announced Tuesday.
Smith, 25, joins the Gladiators during his rookie season after being claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Storm last week.
The 5’11”, 185 lb. defensive back appeared in two games this season for the Storm, both against the Gladiators, where he made 6.5 tackles and collected one pass break-up.
Prior to his experience in the AFL, Smith spent some time in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and the Arizona Cardinals.
A native of Ecorse, MI, Smith attended college at the University of South Alabama where he played two seasons with the Jaguars after transferring from Western Michigan University.
Additionally, the Gladiators also announced they have activated DB Jordan Holland from injured reserve, placed DB Peter Tulloch on reassignment, and placed K Josiah Yazdani on recallable reassignment.
