Bedford WR Johnson Named Week 6 Player of Week

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Gladiators, presented by Unique Home Solutions, announced today that junior wide receiver Davion Johnson of Bedford High School has been named the Week 6 High School Impact Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Bearcats’ 40-33 win over Garfield Heights on Friday night.

Johnson caught two touchdowns on the night while also returning a punt 86 yards for a score in helping keep Bedford unbeaten on the season at 6-0

"We’re extremely excited for Davion to win this award,” said Bedford head football coach Sean Williams. “Davion continues to demonstrate his abilities not only on the field as a leader but off the field as a 3.0 student. There is no one more deserving of this recognition and we are thrilled to have the Gladiators out at our practice this week.”

For winning, Johnson will receive an award recognizing his accomplishment, an appearance in-game at a 2017 Cleveland Gladiators home game, a visit at practice by Defensive Backs Coach Dominic Jones, as well as a $500 grant towards the Bedford High School football program.
