Bedford RB Kenny Wilkins Named High School Impact Player of the Week
CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Gladiators announced today that senior running back Kenny Wilkins of Bedford High School has been named the Week 2 High School Impact Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Bearcats’ 34-18 win over Elyria on Friday night.
Wilkins rushed the ball 17 times for 291 yards and four touchdowns in the victory and has now accumulated 485 rushing yards through the first two weeks of the campaign.
“Kenny’s efforts this past weekend is everything we look for when assessing who is deserving of our High School Impact Player of the Week award,” said Gladiators Offensive Line Coach Chad Schofield. “Wilkins delivered an outstanding performance on the field, carrying his team to a well-deserved week two win.”
As the Gladiators’ High School Impact Player of the Week for Week 2 of the 2017 season, Wilkins will receive an award recognizing his accomplishment, an in-game appearance at a 2018 Cleveland Gladiators home game, a visit at practice by coach Schofield, and a $500 grant towards the Bedford High School football program.
