Beachwood's Connor Named Player of the Week

CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Gladiators, presented by Unique Home Solutions, announced today that junior quarterback Ben Connor of Beachwood High School has been named the Week 8 High School Impact Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Bison’s 60-34 win over Painesville Harvey on Friday night.

Connor completed 13 of his 18 passes for 352 yards and five touchdowns while rushing six times for 62 yards and three more scores in helping improve Beachwood’s record to 3-5 on the year.

“The performance Ben put on this past Friday night was incredible,” said Gladiators Defensive Backs coach Dominic Jones. “Anytime you can account for eight touchdowns and get a win for your team it's a great night. That's the kind of performance he will remember for the rest of his life!”

For winning, Connor will receive an award recognizing his accomplishment, an appearance in-game at a 2017 Cleveland Gladiators home game, a visit at practice by Coach Jones, as well as a $500 grant towards the Beachwood High School football program.
