Gladiators Host Rattlers in Final Home Game of Regular Season

MATCHUP – The Cleveland Gladiators (5-4) are back at Quicken Loans Arena one last time for the 2016 AFL regular season when they take on the Arizona Rattlers (6-3) in Week 10 on Friday, June 3rd at 7:00 pm. Friday’s game is the first of two meetings between Cleveland and Arizona this season as the two will face off in the Gladiators regular season finale at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Ariz., on July 24th.

LAST TIME OUT – Last Saturday, the Gladiators notched their fourth straight win by controlling all three phases of the game against their arch-rivals, the Philadelphia Soul. Gladiators quarterback and Cleveland native Arvell Nelson led Cleveland to victory with a season-high 307 passing yards and seven touchdowns. WR Quentin Sims led Cleveland for the second week in a row with 10 catches for 114 yards and three touchdowns, while WR Collin Taylor extended his franchise-record stretch of 25 consecutive games with a touchdown catch by hauling in five receptions for 78 yards and two TDs.

GLADIATORS PLAYERS TO WATCH – Nelson’s 101.8 QB Rating currently ranks fifth in the AFL, while Taylor’s 64 catches, 788 yards and 20 touchdowns are currently tied for sixth in all categories. Sims continues to impress as a solid No. 2 receiver, catching 11 touchdowns in only six games since joining the receiving corps April 23rd. On the defensive side of the ball, Marvin Ross continues to own the middle, as he ranks first on the team in pass breakups (15) and interceptions (4) while ranking second in tackles (47.5).

RATTLERS PLAYERS TO WATCH – Quarterback Nick Davila continues to stress opposing secondaries, ranking first in the league in passing touchdowns (59) and second in QBR (125.0) and passing yards (2,420). His go-to guy Rod Windsor is still on top of the receiving leaderboards with 90 receptions for 1,095 yards to go with 26 touchdowns, which currently rank second in the league. Defensively, the Rattlers have the top two sack leaders in the AFL in Dimetrio Tyson (5) and Luis Vasquez (4).
