Gladiators To Battle The Storm At The Q
MATCHUP Returning home, the Cleveland Gladiators (2-2) host the Tampa Bay Storm (2-2) Friday at 7:00 p.m. The Gladiators and Tampa Bay play three times this season, and the Gladiators have knocked off the Storm once this season; a season-opening 60-44 road victory on March 27th. The two teams meet once more on June 19th at Quicken Loans Arena. The Gladiators are coming off a 63-48 road loss to Philadelphia; their seconds straight defeat after starting the season 2-0. Tampa Bay knocked off New Orleans 42-13 last week to improve to 2-2; the Storm has alternated wins and losses through the first four games of the season.
LAST TIME OUT Philadelphia snapped its three-game losing skid against the Gladiators, as Cleveland fell 63-48 Saturday night on the road. Shane Austin threw for 298 yards and Collin Taylor had a game-high 120 yards receiving, but the Gladiators fell behind early in the second quarter and were never able to overcome the deficit. The Soul outscored the Gladiators 21-7 in the second quarter to take the upper hand.
WHO TO WATCH: GLADIATORS Dominick Goodman was held out of the end zone for the first time in four games this season, but he posted nine catches for 117 yards. The 117 yards were the most for Goodman in a game this season, and he has at least eight catches in all four games this season.
WHO TO WATCH: STORM Veteran receiver T.T. Toliver leads Tampa Bay with 32 catches, 462 yards, and eight touchdowns on the season. Toliver opened the season with 12 catches and 161 yards against the Gladiators; both season-high totals through four games.
