Gladiators Assigned DL Meshak Williams

The Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League were assigned veteran DL Meshak Williams on Tuesday, the team announced.

Williams, 24, enters his third season in the AFL and first with the Gladiators after a two-year run with the Orlando Predators from 2014-15.

During his 2015 campaign with the Predators, the 6’2”, 260 lb. defensive end registered 29.5 tackles, nine and a half tackles-for-loss, five and a half sacks, and five forced fumbles in 16 games.

A native of Sylvester, GA, Williams spent some time in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent and before that, enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Kansas State University where he started in 26 games in two seasons and compiled a total of 73 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. He was named First-Team All-Big 12 and earned Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the year in his senior season with the Wildcats.

In a corresponding move, the Gladiators have placed DL Matt Hardison on reassignment.
